First day of autumn

Yesterday it was the first day of autumn, yay! I know I should use the word "fall" because it's most common here in America, but screw it, autumn sounds prettier! I would easily name my kid Autumn. In Swedish this season is called "höst" which is a variation of the word harvest. I have always been a huge fan of all seasons. Whenever one ends, I am craving the next one real bad. But I guess I have become Americanized in a way, since autumn makes me beyond excited these days. I have realized that Americans tend to like Halloween and Thanksgiving better than Christmas. At least in the areas that don't get snow. I think it has to do with the fact that snow is a big part of Christmas magic, so if there is no snow, it looks kind of silly having a blow-up snowman in the front yard...
That is why me and Nick dream about settling down in a place that has all of the season weathers. Lately that has become a big part of our life plans, hopes and dreams. I love how equal we are in our thoughts about the future. We are very similar in how we would like our home to look, how to raise the kids, what to plant in the backyard etc. But then we are different in ways that benefits us too. I am picky with detailed cleaning since I have OCD and hate germs, while he is all about having clean and open spaces. So if there are empty water bottles laying around or dishes in the sink - he deals with it. I am more organized with our daily lives and planning so that we don't forget to pay a bill or to do something fun that we have talked about, while he helps me to chill out and be more spontaneous too.
Speaking of how our future home should look. We are obsessed with buying little things that will one day hang on the walls or be used in the kitchen. Especially holiday items, since they have a ton of that stuff in America. I absolutely love how the stores go all out with decorations. It's so creative! If only I could buy it all! In the last few weeks we have bought these two signs. I am crazy about the colors and the motives. We bought the first one at Michael's and we ordered the second one online.

This little guy decided to visit us one night. I have never understood why people think bugs are creepy. If you look closely, they are gorgeous. I mean, yeah I don't want it in my hair. But it's fine if they want to hang out by our backyard light :)

The colder the weather - the more amazing night time skies!

We rarely go out these days, but this month we went to one of our favorite bars for some karaoke :)

Cute boys! The kitties have wanted to sleep in our bed a LOT lately. Reese always does. But now Snickers and Twix are all over us too since it's so cold outside. Buggy and Flexi are too anxious to be stuck in the bedroom but they are doing just fine too :) The only problem with having three cats insisting on sleeping in bed with us, is the horrible back pain we wake up with. But it makes us so happy to have them around again that it's hard to say no. They are just too endearing. Both to us and each other.

For those who don't know, I am obsessed with smoke. The way it moves and looks. It's a treat for the eye. Until the smoke gets IN to your eye, that is haha! To be able to take pictures of it now with a professional camera is a blast. So I tried taking pictures of our BBQ/smoker when Nick was cooking something and it turned out pretty cool!

Charlie, me and the cats were hanging out in the backyard one day... and my goodness... everyone are so darn adorable.

Nick and Charlie are the best play buddies! They love wrestling!

With cold mornings come cuddles! I have missed this during the way too hot summer.

We got so happy today when Charlie wanted to come along for a car ride! We didn't even try to make him go with us, because he never wants to unless he is wearing a leash. But now he ran out there and jumped into the car like it was no big deal. So we all went to the ATM and Taco Bell together, haha! Having a dog is too much work for us right now, but later in life we would love to have our own. We would take that dog with us almost everywhere, because we fully believe in making them a part of the family.
