Napa Valley wine and dinner

After the hot air balloon adventure, we were wide awake! Our brains were fried though, from staying awake almost 24 hours. We bought some food on the way back to the hotel and then crashed in bed to take a nap. I had a head ache for the rest of the day but I was too happy to care. Just being alone with Nick was everything I needed. It's stressful to live in a house with 7 people and 7 animals. Too many opinions and different personalities. As much as we love Nick's family of course, a couple needs to live by themselves. But we will sooner rather than later. So this weekend meant lots of alone time and we seriously enjoyed every minute of it! We kept forgetting what time it was because we almost never looked at the clock. We talked, talked and talked. He and I are the best team and we have the same vision for our future. Together we are big goofballs and yet we have those deep, meaningful talks that bring us closer together. Even at home we have at least one night a week when Nick gets home from work and we somehow get wrapped into an interesting conversation.

My man all dressed up for dinner

My idea of Napa was always beautiful sunrises and sunsets. We got a wonderful sunrise that morning in the balloon and we got lucky in the evening, watching this beautiful sunset!

We booked a table at the restaurant Pasta Prego in downtown Napa that evening. But I ended up giving Nick a back massage, since it's always hurting, and we completely lost track of time. So we had to rush over there! But wow... it was BEYOND worth the rush!! This place was AMAZING. First of all the staff was lovely. But the food was mind-blowing. I had the citrus cream, cheese and spinach ravioli. I have had that at many restaurants before but they must have put magic in the sauce because it was delicious! Nick's salmon and mashed potatoes was very impressive too! It's like he said "You know the restaurant is good when there is no salt or pepper on the table", meaning that the food is already perfect when it is served.

My food didn't look very special because they forgot the parsley, lol. But the taste was wonderful. Nick also had the calamari which he was very happy with.

Nick ordered wine which I normally don't like. He is actually not a big fan of it either. So when people said "You're going to Napa? You have to visit a winery then.." we weren't too intrigued, haha! But since this is the city of vineyards we both had a couple of sips. And I have to say, for the first time in my life I liked it!

We left right when the restaurant was closing and we were too full for dessert anyways. So we asked to bring it with us. The waitress recommended the cheesecake, I think it was Bailey's and cream flavor. We ate it later that night in the hotel and my god... let's just say that it was gone in about 40 seconds!

Our favorite TV-show is "90 day fiancé" and I had brought my laptop so that we could watch the new season. Just laying in bed watching that with Nick was the perfect ending to a perfect day!
