I am sitting here in our bedroom while Nick is at work. My eyes. nose and throat are swollen, itchy, red and runny and horrible. I thought the spring allergies were gone so I googled and realized that it's apparently "fungus season". When I found out that I was allergic to fungus and mold on flowers and grass, I was told that it only comes out in the winter time after the snow starts melting. So I honestly didn't think I would have to deal with it in California of all places. But apparently it comes out in July too. Greeeaat. I am sure our bed is full of it since the cats sleep here with us. And I can't pet the cats right now without feeling like shit, because their fur is probably full of those particles. We are out of allergy pills because I have had to take two pills per day to feel okay. Oh well, Nick can hopefully buy me some more on his way home from work :) just have got to suck it up until then!

In the meantime I'd like to share our 4th of July with you guys! Two days after hanging out at Rio del Mar beach it was time to go there again :D although this time we drove a bit further away to Beer Can beach. Same wonderful ocean full of beautiful whales :D but with better sand and nicer view! I love that whole line of beaches. It's gorgeous.

We saw a HUGE flock of birds above the ocean!! I have never seen such a thing. It was mind blowing. There must have been a big group of fish swimming around there. There were some others who also wanted the fish... we saw at least three beautiful Orcas <3 They gave us an amazing show. Once in a while they would start whipping their tales up and down, as if they were standing on their heads, trying to dive down and grab the fish. It almost looked like they were playing. Then they took a break to relax and then went back at it. I just loved this spectacular show of the thousands of birds and whales.

The sun started to set and gave us this breathtaking view. I enjoyed the heavy sound from the ocean waves the whole night.

I have a picture of me wearing this sweater in Chicago. I was standing on a bridge with the towering buildings in the background. It was late at night so everything was lit up :) This was one of the first pictures that Nick ever saw of me. So whenever he takes a picture of me wearing it now, he always stops for a moment to tell me how crazy it is that I am right in front of him as his wife :D <3

We hung out with Heather and Roman again plus a bunch of new friends that we got to know. Plus a couple of kids and a very cute dog ;)

Handsome man <3

Grilling away! I just brought some simple cheese sandwiches, cookies and chips to snack on xD We were exhausted that day so we took forever to leave the house.

It started getting smokey from the bon fires and first fireworks...

Our nice little set up!

HERE WE GO!!!

Looking bad ass in our neon lights that Heather brought ;) We have some cool fire powder that is supposed to turn the flames colorful! But we totally forgot to try it out!

Nick wrapped up the fireworks with this picture ;)

After carrying a huge amount of things up the cliff from the beach, we finally reached our cars xD ugh that was a workout! So it was nice chilling in Heather and Roman's backyard and get a good night's sleep!

Nighty night!
