Our night at the motel just outside of Monterey wasn't easy. The room was surprisingly nice and clean considering that it was a motel. But just knowing where we were, made it hard to sleep. I was awake most of the night tossing and turning. The next morning we discovered that a car had gotten two tires stolen from it. Poor people! I am glad that Nick knows how to point out shady people. We almost parked in that same spot but he saw people looking like "gangsters" so he avoided that spot. Naive as I am, I didn't think it was a big deal.. until the next morning when those other motel guests couldn't drive home like we could!

We had guests coming to the house later that day but we wanted to make one last stop before leaving. So we went to SAND CITY! It was tricky figuring out how to get to the other side of the big road and to the beach. But boy was it beautiful when we got there...

P.S. I have no idea why there is sometimes such big gaps between each photo. I have tried to fix it but with no luck.

Even though freezing cold winds were hitting us from The Bay, we loved every moment of it. Before working as an au pair I read countless of au pair blogs and saw pictures of mountains, oceans and beaches such as this one. I wished to bad that I would go there some day too. Now I am living it. It's my life. I can go to the far end of the west coast whenever I feel like it. It's wonderful. No matter how expensive it is to live here, I wouldn't want to change it for the world.

You make my life perfect <3

Look at these beautiful patterns in this rock! You can practically see the water running through it to create it. It must have happened many years ago when the water was further up on land.

We saw some beautiful landscape on our way back to San Jose!

Gilroy is the city or garlic.. for some reason, lol. The store that Nick usually goes to was closed. So he freaked out when he saw this one and swirled his way into the parking lot from the highway while I was holding on for dear life!

Vampire wine.

They had a Frank Sinatra exhibition.

You could read his food orders etc. at the hotels he stayed at.

Anything Nick can cook with is super exciting so he loves these hot sauce stores. Even I got excited about all of the fun flavors and different fruits and vegetables that I have never even heard of.

Nick was one big happy kid in there! :P I love seeing him this happy <3 we bought some things and he made yummy garlic fries when we came home
